Counselling London based Clients at City Counsellor

My counselling qualifications and experience

I trained at the School of Human and Life Sciences, Roehampton University and hold a BSc (Hons) in Integrative Counselling.

This course provides a pathway to accreditation with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and involved a three year period of theoretical study, personal therapy and supervised practice in an external setting.

As an Integrative Counsellor I am trained to offer counselling using Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and Existential theoretical positions to the work that I do with clients.  Usually no decision is made as to which approach suits an individual client and a way of working evolves, although all three approaches place great importance on the relationship between the client and the therapist.

My practice experience has been gained in the voluntary sector at Wandsworth Prison Counselling Service, offering sessions to the inmate population and latterly in the NHS in a primary care setting, working in a South London Health Centre.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by its published Ethical Framework.
